One of the most important things I learned from my fast is that its easier to follow through with if youre informed enough about it. Plus its safer if you know whats going on in your body while youre starving it, so I thought I'd post these on here to help anyone who had any questions. All these sites really helped me. =]

hi, everyone. i'm new to this community and to livejournal. my name is anais, i'm an 18 year old girl with an ED, yadayada. i'm sure you knew that last bit haha.

if you'd like to know more about me, feel free to read my entries or friend me or whatever, i'm looking for some fasting buddies and some ED support. :)

anyway, i'm going on a 3-day fast beginning tomorrow, which is inspired by the beautifully-versed previous post. if you'd like to join me, i'd love company.

What draws me into a fast can vary; it can be for cleansing, weight loss, and spiritual reconnection ext.  Sometimes there no reason other than for simplification purposes.  I am the type who becomes keen in a fasting state.  Things slow down and I become clear minded (a rare state for me).  I find that I am less attached to the things I thought I so desperately needed.  My lack of consumption fills me with a primitive connection to the world around me.  I feel raw and wild.  It is in this state I tend to renew my being’s energy and cultivate wiry tactics that are utilized in opportune moments of my personal life.  I like feeling the intense duality of it.  One side of me elevated above human frailty and need of food while the other is pleased at the displayed strength of my body as it functions to complete what must be done to attain it.

A community basically for making fun of wannarexics and people who think eating disorders are cool. Thinking an ED is a great way to lose weight so they can look like people in magazines.
We're a bunch of eating disordered girls and boys, who are tired of all the people who think they have a disorder by skipping dinner one day. Fantastic place to join if you have a sense of humour and tired of people not respecting what an eating disorder really is about.

Hey all!
I'm starting a 10 day + fast of the Master Cleanse/Lemonade Diet.
I'm starting at (thanks to thanksgiving...ugh) 140.8 lbs.
I hope to lose 10 lbs, or even 22 (like Beyonce did)!
The drink just tastes like lemonade with a spicy kick from the cayenne.
I'll keep everyone posted as to how it works out.

Intake so far: 8floz light soymilk - 70cal, 1tbs light chocolate syrup - 25 cal

I completely forgot about my no arteficial sweetener rule this morning, so I started drinking the chocolate milk I made when I went, "oh crap, that's light syrup there's probably fake sugar in it!".

But there isn't. There's just less sugar. How awesome is that?

Yesterday went swimmingly, and today should go just as well. My chocolate milk will hold me over until noon, though I'll be drinking water and tea durring that time as well. To keep me busy until then, I'm taking down the window unit airconditioner in my room, working on homework, doing laundry, and talking you ladies, of course! Then at noon I'm heading over to Curley's(mah job), where I will work on the Haunted House that we are building in the basement for the customers (we did it last yearn - so much fun and everyone loved it) which will keep me occupied and not eating until about 2-2:30. Then I'm comming home and having some grape juice, doing some DDR, and the rest of my night will be spent back at work bartending.

If I have a plan, I'll stick to it. If I wing it, I fail, so....

Today is the first day of my indefinitely continuing liquid fast. Again, anyone who wants to join me, it's 300 calories per day in water, tea, coffee, (soy)milk, and 100%fruit juice. No soda, no artificial sweetener, no added sodium.

Starting off the day today with a homemade vanilla soy latte for 40 calories. I'm going to allow myself between 150-200 calories in fruit juce throughout the rest of the day, and then take some Iced tea with fruit juice with me to work.

Hello everyone. My name is Kira. As of today I'm starting a liquid fast that I'll cary out for at least three days, but will actually go for as long as possible. I am allowing myself every day up to 300 calories in:

Soy milk
100% fruit juice

No soda, no artificial sweeteners, no added sodium. I'm vegan, so hence the soy milk, but if anyone wants to join me and wants to drink real milk, that's perfectly fine.

anything interesting about yourself: Not very interesting..but Im starting a fast tomorrow (just fresh squeezed lemon in spring water) for 25 days. Gaurenteed youll lose atleast 10 to 15lbs,depending on your excerise routine. I have become overly obsessed with the gym (kickboxing/bodycombat) and I love it. hello girls!
my name is Juliet and I'm new, really new at this...
I'm European, and trying (as you can se) not to spill out most of my personal info cuz I know they could find me and stop me... speakin' about my family and friends..got kinda paranoid with internet lately..
( you can find my story on my blog, if you like)
anyhow, I'm starting my very first fast tomorrow, and I wanted to ask a couple of questions, like if it's ok to smoke while fasting...cuz I can stop eating but I really can't say no to my cigarette...!
and... how long can I go without eating before getting sick? I mean, more or less, as a beginner, what do you sudgest for me to do?

soo...that's it.  I hope all goes well and I'm very happy to have found this group. I read some of your entries, you all sound amazing...
and the sweetest thing is I've never felt so..part of something, even though nothing really happened yet.
I really think we have something in common that goes beyond...normal, common, simple things.

we have the desire to be on the outside as beautiful and charming as we are on the inside.

Hello :) I just found and joined this community today. Here's some basic things to start me off:

Name: Kayla
Age: 19
Height: 5'1" (I'm so short!)
Starting Weight: 125 (March 27, 2007)
Current Weight: 119.4 (May 8, 2007)
Goal(s): 106 (by mid-june) or 100 (soon after that//only if I'm unsatisfied at 106)

I've never done a real fast. I've tried in the past, but it never quite worked out. I always ended up eating at the end of the day. I've lasted before on gum and water from the time I got up (6:30am) until dinner (around 7pm), but by that time, I end up eating.

Starting tomorrow, I'm going on a 3 day fast. I really want to do it this time and I think 3 days is reasonable. Of course, if I don't make it through the first day, nothing will work, but I'm pretty positive that I'll get through it.

If I make it through those three days, I might continue it a little longer if I think I can. Otherwise, I'll slack back to my restricting until the next time I decide to fast.

What I'm allowing on this fast:
+Water (plain or with a crystal light to-go pack in it)
Everything else is completely off limits.

I hope I can do this.

I'm going to start a 48 hour fast tomorrow. I've never fasted before, so this will be quite an experience. it will consist of green tea, water, and green tea pills.

Hey everyone.
I just made this secret journal to track my weight etc, but I've been in this community before with a different name.
I'm easing myself back into fasting again. I used to fast all the time, and I just want to slowly get back into it because it's a great way to lose weight and feel clean.

Today is the start of my new fast. I'm going to try 3 days to begin with, but if I can make it for the whole week, great. I don't want to pressure myself too much to begin with. If I feel incredibly weak, I'm allowing myself a glass of fruit smoothie (180cals) to get me through.

Here's my awful stats:
Height: 5'4
HW: 210
CW: 164
STGW: 145
LTGW: 98 would be a dream

It's good to be back! By the way, if anybody wants to be buddies and add eachother, just say. Can never have too many friends :)

i know it sounds just like what they tell you in an NA meeting. lol. 'just for today' but thats what im doing, just a day. for now, just to make up for earlier. so if i start now i wont eat until tomorrow at 7:oopm EST but really im not going to eat untill i go out later tomorrow night to this party at like 11pm and even then im only going to eat an apple. im sure the beer will make up right>? anyway anyone want to join...? all im having is water (obviously) and chicken or beef bouillon cubes which are 5 calories each but only 3/4 during the whole period of time. thats completly up to u if you want to drink them. you can even switch them out for gum but remember only 3/4 pices even then. let me know, i could use the support and company is always nice. take care girls. think thin...

There are better places to go than a grocery store to feel better

I found myself doing just that this week.
Instead of screwing myself up and hours of regret to follow cramming things into my face, I decided instead of spending money on things I'm going that
(a) Ruin my self-confidence to control myself
(b) Shit out anyway (e.g., money down the drain),

I got this:

Using it for a week, it really makes a big difference, plus, I really like having really white teeth despite all the coffee I drink sometimes

Just a thought the next time anyone feels like food is the answer and you happen to be in a grocery store, don't, there are better things that last longer to spend your money on.
